HOW TO SCHEDULE A L.I.O.N. PLAYERS PERFORMANCE

To book a performance please call Akron Pregnancy Services at 330-434-2221 to speak with Jayne Gurley the director of L.I.O.N. Players or Todd and Amy Schreiner the co-directors. You may contact us through our email form from our website (click here), but we will need to confirm by phone.

L.I.O.N. Players target audience is teens and college aged young adults. The material presented in a performance is not appropriate for children under 12 years of age.

L.I.O.N. Players offer three programs to choose from:

1. GOD'S PLAN FOR SEXUALITY - A culturally relevent presentation that combines music, dance, mime, multimedia, and drama to address the sexual topics and addictions overwhelming our society. Geared for junior high, teens, and college students, this program hits youth where they are at and calls them to make a stand for God's plan for their lives especially in the area of sexuality.

Run time: 30 to 60 mins depending on the venu and event (can adapt performance to event needs)

2. EDEN AGAIN - A movement/dance presentation portraying the classic tale of Adam and Eve, their creation, their love, the temptation, the Fall, and Christ's redemption and restoration. (*click here to see more details)

Run Time: 50 minutes with an additional 10 minutes at the beginning and 15 to 20 minutes of sharing and ministry time at the end.

3. THE BARRIER OF THORNS - Set in medieval lands, a troupe of traveling circus performers encounter a woodland creature who offers to help fulfill desires. Once the pact is made the troupe finds itself confined within an unnatural barrier of thorns with no way out. Left to their own devices, the troupe quickly slides into a depraved state. As darkness descends, does any hope of rescue remain?

The Barrier of Thorns is a full-length play, a modern re-telling of the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. It shows how the power of evil can consume and influence people and ultimately lead them to a place have dispair and hurt. In the end there is a hope for real love, which all are looking for, that will satisify. (*click here to see more details)

Run time: approximately 2 hours with an intermission.

4. FOREVER MY PRINCESS MUSICAL - An original (by the LION Players) dramatic musical that takes place in mid-evil times where a king and queen are preparing their daugther, the princess, for her wedding day. However, in the midst of the preparation their is an evil that tries to pull the princess away from her true love, the Prince.

This performance is geared towards younger girls (ages 7-13 years old). It can be used for a father daugther banquet or for a special focused event to young girls to teach them about waiting and saving themselves for marriage, which is a special gift from God. It also teaches how each one is valued by the Father God as a princess and how they need to be treated as one. (*click here to see more details)

Run time: 21 mins and then 20 mins for sharing a short message with testimonies.

DETAILS FOR LION PLAYERS PERFORMANCES:

- L.I.O.N. Players do not charge to perform.

- Venues must supply water for the team.

- Venues must have enough stage space to accomodate the performance. 20 feet by 12 feet is recommended and must be clear of wires, musical instruments, or any other obstacles (such as prayer kneelers along the front of the stage, steps, etc.). Ceiling height is also a concern in order to perform some of the stunt work.

- L.I.O.N. Players use their own sound system, venues need only provide electricity.

- It is suggested that there be a changing room or green room for the players for preparation of the performance and performance wardrobe changes.

- LION Players usually arrive 1 to 2 hours before a performance to setup sound system or lights (if needed) and to prepare other details for the performance.

- There is no video allowed of our performances nor flash photography. However, if you do take photos we ask that if a LION Players photo is used for a promotional use (web, print or other) that you would ask us and show us the photo before it is published.

- The team ministers mainly in the Akron/Canton/Cleveland area. Performances booked beyond this area are encouraged to provide gas money and possible van rental fees (negotiable). If overnight accomodations are required, the venue is encouraged to handle arrangements.
